En el siglo XIX no existían los auditorios que ahora conocemos, y las obras de los compositores eran interpretadas en salones de cortes o casas privadas. Por eso esta música se llama "musica da camera" que traducido del italiano significa "música de salón".
El Jardín de Belagua recupera el marco histórico que acompañaba a esta música recreando cada semana, en las reuniones privadas de una casa particular, el formato de concierto de cámara de la época.
Artistas de reconocido prestigio, que regularmente actúan en los grandes auditorios, interpretan esta música en un entorno privado, cálido y cercano, tal y como se hacía siglos atrás.

I see why this one isn't much played . The variations are certainly more than the thema and this is usually the case of course .Sentimental and rather emptytheme but it the trio gets much better.Will I look forward to hearing it again ? Maybe if other people take the time to learn and programme it there is something there.Like his 2nd piano concerto but really ? I'm a Brahms man every one of his trios is gorgeous and well constructed . Compare Tchaikov piano sonatas with Brahms . See the difference ? Shostakovich trio is worth a dozen of this .His violin concerto is one of the greatest ever written .Tchaikovsky violin concerto is above comparison but after my 600 hearings I think I'd pick Shostakovich and both Prokofiev if I was marooned on an island . Why couldn't Martinu write one good piano concerto in five tries? Oh well. Thanks to youtube we can hear it all with various instrumentalists !
